Challenge #13 - Inspirational Challenge

Good morning! Welcome back to another installment from the 4 Crafty Chicks :) This morning's temperatures are sure a lot more pleasant that yesterday (-37C with a -44C windchill BRRRR)...and it looks like we are in for a tiny spell of nice(r) temp's for the next few days. We'll take it!

We had such amazing entries for our "Anything But a Card" challenge last week - thank you to all of you who participated. Unfortunately, we can't pick ALL of your creations, although, it would make things A LOT easier *wink* so here are the 3 Golden Egg choices for this week in numerical order:

Betty

Lesley

Congratulations ladies! Please grab the "Golden Egg Badge" and display it proudly on your blog and then link it back to us if you wouldn't mind!

Now....onto this week's challenge! I am your "Hostess-with-the-mostess" this week (Lori) and I am bringing you an Inspiration Challenge. Take anything you want from the following picture and create away! You can chose to take the colors from the photo, certain elements, or re-design the whole scene...whatever inspires you - run with it!!! :) I cannot *wait* to see what gorgeous creations come of this photo.

I found this GORGEOUS mantle picture at Better Homes and Gardens website....doesn't it just make you want to curl up beside the fireplace with a homemade quilt, some hot apple cider and a good book?!? (Especially with these -36C temperatures we've been experiencing here in central Alberta!! hahah)

AND...as an added bonus this week, it is the last Thursday of the month, so you know what that means, right?! It's "prize" time! From all the participants who enter, we will use Random.org to pick a winner of a yummy prize donated by our lovely Tamie :) .

Prize Description:

Glitter pen (atyou Spica 02 Pink), Snowman Stamp (Penny Johnson), a mix and match of ribbon, buttons and punched paper; crocheted flowers, chipboard flowers, pearls.

For my card, I drew out the Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green colors and went to work :) I've seen so many cards on Splitcoaststampers and Paper Craft Planet using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set from SU! as their Christmas tree boughs....so, I decided to give it a try myself and I totally LOVE how it turned out!
Melissa, Leanne and Tamie have out-done themselves yet AGAIN this week with some gorgeous creations! Take a sneak peak and then hop on over to their blogs and leave them each some lovin's :) Click on their names to get to their blogs.

"ANYTHING BUT A CARD" at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning stampers! The weeks are just flying by and we finally have snow here - it is starting to look a little like Christmas. Can you believe that we are on Challenge #12, almost 3 months since starting our challenge blog *whoot, whoot!* You all are making this just the best experience and a fun challenge for us girls. Before I get onto the new challenge, lets talk a little bit about last week.

Last week, Melissa, gave us a tough challenge "With Sympathy!" They seem to be some of the hardest cards/scrapbook pages/crafts to make. We would like to thank everyone who entered into the challenge. All of your creations were just lovely. You made it tough to pick just three. Here they are in no particular order.

Alicia

Congratulations ladies! Please grab the Golden Egg Badge and display it proudly on your blog and then link it back to us if you wouldn't mind! Congrats again ladies!

Hi there it is me, Tamie, and I will be your host this week with Challenge #12 It is "ANYTHING BUT A CARD." At this time of year everyone is busy making cards, getting ready for christmas and all sorts of other things in our lives. So girls this challenge is going out to all of you - let's get wild and crazy and make something other than cards!! Here is hoping you will enjoy this challenge as much as we did :)

My camera and I have a real love-hate relationship and well let's just say it wouldn't co-operate last night or this morning...it wouldn't turn on. So while I was waiting and praying for my camera to work, I made a couple of more items for you too see. It really did help me get started on my homemade Christmas gift list.

To the left is a Christmas ornament. To the right is a small tin that actually can hold gift cards or anything little.

Here are the other amazingly talented Crafty Chicks! Lori, Leanne and Melissa out did themselves again this week with some fantabulous ideas. Take a sneak peak and then hop on over to their blogs to see how they made them. Just click on their names to get to their blogs.

Didn't the girls do a fabulous job? If you would like to join us for this challenge, please link directly to your post (not just to your blog), using InLinkz below. "With Sympathy" at the 4 Crafty Chicks

Welcome back for our eleventh challenge at the 4 Crafty Chicks - our 11th challenge on the 11th day of the 11th month...*do you hear the Twilight Zone music? {giggle}* But before we get to the new challenge we've got some business to clear up. :)

I guess Leanne really stumped you all with her color combination - but the entries we did get were FABULOUS! Our Top Three, in alphabetical order, are:

Congratulations ladies! Please grab the Golden Egg Badge and display it with pride on your blog!

This week's challenge is a theme I always struggle with ... I don't make this type of card very often but know how necessary they are to have on hand for those unexpected moments. You all know what I'm talking about: the sympathy card. I have loved the Stampin' Up set "Thoughts and Prayers" since it came out and it has become my "go-to" set for those more difficult cards and have used it for my card this week:

Now let's see what the rest of the 4 Crafty Chicks created:
