A New Year with a Crazy Egg.....

Welcome back to all our crafting PEEPS! I hope you had a super holiday break...filled with warm memories, great food and lots of laughter and fun :) A big thank you to the girls who participated in my sketch challenge last week...we had some beautiful entries and we had some hard decisions to make for the top 3...here they are in no particular order:

Congratulations, ladies! Please grab your Golden Egg badge and display it proudly on your blog! We'd love it if you could link back to our challenge too. :)

For this week's challenge, which also happens to be a Crazy Egg challenge, I am bringing you a theme of "A New Year." This can be whatever you feel a new year means to you - a celebration, a resolution, a new start, whatever you wish. It is my turn to offer the prize for the Crazy Egg and the picture below shows an assortment of 6 x 6 designer papers, A Good Friend stamp set, and a package of snowflake rub-on's - all from Stampin' Up!

Here is my card for this week's theme...my card symbolizes a brand new year of "health" for me...both physically and mentally. There are a lot of changes coming my way and I'm very excited about everything.....

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #17

Happy Thursday crafting PEEPS! Are you ready for the big day?!? Only 2 more sleeps! ACK! It seems to come so quickly doesn't it?! We sure hope you are able to take some time this week to relax in your craft rooms and create with us....

Last week's "Snowman" challenge was a great success with many talented entries....unfortunately, we can only choose 3 Golden Egg winners. Here they are in alphabetical order:

Congratulations, ladies! Please grab your Golden Egg badge and display it proudly on your blog! We'd love it if you could link back to our challenge too. :)

...and now onto this week's challenge! I came up with this sketch for you all this week. Feel free to rotate it, flip it, etc. as long as we can see the main features of the sketch :)

This is my square card for the sketch challenge. I found some new nestabilities at our local scrapbook store (and yep, they were on sale!) so I decided to give them a crank through my Big Shot and try 'em out on this card..I really, really like how it turned out :)

Congratulations, Kerstin! Please grab your Golden Egg badge and display it proudly on your blog! We'd love it if you could link back to our challenge too. :)

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow!!!!! Well when it snows what can you make????? SNOWMEN!!!! :) Doesn't the word at this time of year just remind you of Frosty the Snowman? So to go along with the wintery storms we have been experiencing since Tuesday night and all the snow we have..... this is my challenge for you.

CHALLENGE #16 is SNOWMEN OR SNOWMAN.

Tamie

So here is my card for this challenge. While driving home last night in a snow storm, I saw this lone little boy making a snowman and having so much fun in the snow. Me, well I just wanted to get into the house and hunker down. Anyway, this little boy inspired my card, I had this stamp and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

Take a peek at the other Crafty Chicks creations, once again they have out done themselves. Thanks ladies :) :)

Challenge #15 -- A 4 Crafty Chicks' Color Combination

Hello again my crafty peeps! It's Melissa here with a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.  Before we get to that we need to look back at last week's birthday challenge - what a great week it was!  You all outdid yourselves with our birthday theme - so many different projects and eye candy for us to look at!  You made it very difficult to pick a Top Three but, after much deliberation, we have agreed on the following cards (in order of submission):

Congratulations, ladies!  Please grab your Golden Egg badge and display it proudly on your blog!  We'd love it if you could link back to our challenge too.  :)

So, now that we've got that business out of the way, it's time to reveal this week's challenge and it's my FAVORITE kind of challenge - a color challenge.  I must admit that this color combo was totally inspired by my new favorite Basic Grey paper collection, Marjolaine.

And here is my card using these wonderful colors:

The rest of the Crafty Chicks did a fabulous job with these colors - take a peek!

Challenge #13 - Inspirational Challenge

Good morning! Welcome back to another installment from the 4 Crafty Chicks :) This morning's temperatures are sure a lot more pleasant that yesterday (-37C with a -44C windchill BRRRR)...and it looks like we are in for a tiny spell of nice(r) temp's for the next few days. We'll take it!

We had such amazing entries for our "Anything But a Card" challenge last week - thank you to all of you who participated. Unfortunately, we can't pick ALL of your creations, although, it would make things A LOT easier *wink* so here are the 3 Golden Egg choices for this week in numerical order:

Betty

Lesley

Congratulations ladies! Please grab the "Golden Egg Badge" and display it proudly on your blog and then link it back to us if you wouldn't mind!

Now....onto this week's challenge! I am your "Hostess-with-the-mostess" this week (Lori) and I am bringing you an Inspiration Challenge. Take anything you want from the following picture and create away! You can chose to take the colors from the photo, certain elements, or re-design the whole scene...whatever inspires you - run with it!!! :) I cannot *wait* to see what gorgeous creations come of this photo.

I found this GORGEOUS mantle picture at Better Homes and Gardens website....doesn't it just make you want to curl up beside the fireplace with a homemade quilt, some hot apple cider and a good book?!? (Especially with these -36C temperatures we've been experiencing here in central Alberta!! hahah)

AND...as an added bonus this week, it is the last Thursday of the month, so you know what that means, right?! It's "prize" time! From all the participants who enter, we will use Random.org to pick a winner of a yummy prize donated by our lovely Tamie :) .

Prize Description:

Glitter pen (atyou Spica 02 Pink), Snowman Stamp (Penny Johnson), a mix and match of ribbon, buttons and punched paper; crocheted flowers, chipboard flowers, pearls.

For my card, I drew out the Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green colors and went to work :) I've seen so many cards on Splitcoaststampers and Paper Craft Planet using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set from SU! as their Christmas tree boughs....so, I decided to give it a try myself and I totally LOVE how it turned out!
Melissa, Leanne and Tamie have out-done themselves yet AGAIN this week with some gorgeous creations! Take a sneak peak and then hop on over to their blogs and leave them each some lovin's :) Click on their names to get to their blogs.
